DELTA (Dortmund electron accelerator)

DELTA is an electron storage ring with a beam energy of 1.5 GeV, located at the TU Dortmund and operated by the Center for Synchrotron Radiation.

The chair of accelerator physics (Prof. Dr. Shaukat Khan, Prof. Dr. Thomas Weis, Prof. Dr. Wolfram Helml) and workgroups from the chair of Experimental Physics I (Prof. Dr. Metin Tolan, Prof. Dr. Carsten Westphal) are assigned to the Center.

DELTA is a synchrotron light source for users. The installation of special magnetic structures (so-called wigglers and undulators) enables the generation of soft and hard synchrotron radiation. This radiation is used for the non-destructive investigation of various materials by research groups, e.g. from the FZ Juelich or the universities of Dortmund, Siegen and Wuppertal.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

  • Proposals can be submitted via the DELTA User System for the first half of 2023 until 29th of January 2023 (included).
